Application form for all undergraduate (BSc) programmes
Note: You need not choose between BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Physics at the time of applying. The choice can be made after admission.
The application fee is Rs 1000.

The application fee is Rs 1000 or Rs 1200, depending on the combination of programmes that you apply for. See below for more details about how the application fee is calculated.
Application Deadline
The last date for receiving completed application forms Tuesday, 15 April, 2025.
Entrance examination schedule
The entrance examinations will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at designated exam centres at the following locations.
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Durgapur, Goa, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Madurai, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Noida, Paschim Medinipur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Silchar, Siliguri, Srinagar, Tiruchi, Trivandrum, Visakhapatnam
All entrance examinations will be conducted in a single morning session, starting at 09:00 and ending at either 12:00 or 12:30, depending on the exam.
Applying to multiple MSc/PhD programmes

You can apply to at most one of the three PhD programmes: PhD Mathematics, PhD Computer Science and PhD Physics.

If you apply for PhD Mathematics or PhD Computer Science, you must write the entrance exam for that programme.

For PhD Physics, there is no separate entrance exam. You can only apply if you have written JEST, UGC-CSIR NET or GATE. Please check the CMI Admissions page for more details. You cannot apply to any other programmes in combination with PhD Physics.

You can apply for PhD in Mathematics in combination with MSc Mathematics. There is a common entrance exam for both categories. You cannot apply to any other programme in combination with PhD Mathematics.

You can apply for PhD in Computer Science in combination with MSc Computer Science. There is a common entrance exam for both categories. You cannot apply to any other programme in combination with PhD Computer Science.

You can apply to any combination of the three MSc programmes: MSc Mathematics, MSc Computer Science and MSc Data Science.
The combination that you can apply for depends on entrance examination that you have to chosen to write.

If you have selected the MSc Mathematics entrance examination, you can apply to all three MSc programmes.

If you have selected the MSc Computer Science entrance examination, you can apply to MSc Computer Science and MSc Data Science, but not to MSc Mathmatics.

If you have selected the MSc Data Science entrance examination, you can only apply to MSc Data Science.
If you apply to multiple MSc programmes, you will be short-listed based on your performance in the exam that you write and called for an interview for the other programmes.

Application fees

For BSc applications, the application fee is Rs 1000.

For MSc/PhD applications, there are four categories of subjects
Category 1: MSc and/or PhD Mathematics
Category 2: MSc and/or PhD Computer Science
Category 3: MSc Data Science
Category 4: PhD Physics
If you apply in a single category, the application fee is Rs 1000. If you apply in more than one category, the fee is Rs 1200. The exact fee payable will be displayed when you fill out the application form.

Application fees must be paid online. You will find a link after you fill in your details in the application form.

If you are unable to apply the application fee online, please write to admissions@cmi.ac.in with your Applicant ID explaining the circumstances.
Admit Card

Admit Cards will be available online after 17 May, 2025.

There is no photograph or signature required for the Admit Card. You will have to carry a print out of the Admit Card to the Test Centre along with a photo-identity card. The photo-identity card can be a government issued document like a passport, or an identity card, or a letter attested by your school/college/employer.
